“Lead with Pride, Serve with Honor”
HISTORY
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, established on 15th July 1948 with over 96 Senior Division Units. Its first director was Col G.G. Bewoor, who later became the Chief of Army Staff. Initially launched with just 20,000 cadets, NCC has now grown into a formidable organization with a strength exceeding 13 lakh cadets.
NCC operates under the Ministry of Defence, India, and is led by a Director General of the rank equivalent to a Three-Star Army Officer. It provides an orientation towards life in the Indian Armed Forces while fostering national integration. NCC instills essential values such as leadership, character, discipline, camaraderie, secularism, adventure, and selfless service among young citizens.
To promote national unity and cultural harmony, NCC organizes various camps at district, state, national, and international levels.
